Lexus LC 500 Named Car of Texas

Lexus LC 500 Named Car of Texas! Recently the Texas Auto Writers Association held its 2018 Auto Roundup at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas. For 2018, the Lexus LC 500 was named the “Car of Texas” and placed first in the Performance Coupe category, while the Lexus RC F placed third in the Performance Coupe category. The 2018 LS F Sport was also honored as the first place winner in the Full-Size Luxury Car Category. The awards were chosen by 49 journalists who were called upon to test-drive and evaluate vehicles across 14 categories.
“Our journalists had a clear decision after driving vehicles at a new venue this year,” said Michael Marrs, TAWA’s president. “They thought the new Lexus LC stood out among the competitors for its eye-catching looks and refined but muscular performance on the track.”
We wrote about the impressive 2018 Lexus LS sharing, “The new LS features the new platform as well as an all-new 3.5-liter, twin turbocharged V6 that delivers 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Both numbers represent significant gains over the outgoing LS model’s naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 (386 hp and 367 lb-ft).”
“Lexus is committed to providing drivers with exceptional craftsmanship, quality and long-term dependability, and the 2018 LC 500 remains true to this hallmark with its cutting-edge design, and superior performance and safety features,” said Jeff Bracken, group vice president and general manager, Lexus Division. “We are grateful to the Texas Auto Writers Association for hosting this exciting event and are honored to be recognized as the Car of Texas.”
